Pre-Service Guidelines for Lip Blush Procedure

To ensure a successful lip blush tattoo procedure, follow these essential pre-service guidelines:

    • Obtain and take prescription-strength anti-viral medication for 5 days.

    • Start the medication 2 days before the procedure, continue on the day of the procedure, and for 2 days post-procedure.

    • Refrain from working out 48 hours before the procedure.

    • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and stimulants 48 hours prior to the lip blush tattoo.

    • Steer clear of sun exposure and tanning one week before the scheduled procedure.

    • Do not consume Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before the appointment.

    • Discontinue use of Retin-A and Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) at least 6 weeks before the procedure.

    • Wait a minimum of 6 months after lip fillers and 6 weeks for a touch-up.

Post-Care Guidelines for Lip Blush Procedure

To ensure optimal healing and color retention, adhere to the following post-care instructions:

    • Finish the prescribed antiviral medication to prevent blisters post-appointment.

    • Apply ointment on lips several times a day for at least 10 days.

    • To prevent lips from drying, apply a light layer of ointment during the day by dabbing/pressing it onto the skin.

    • Itching is normal; refrain from picking.

    • Avoid soaps, cleansing creams, or chemicals on lips for 10 days.

    • Avoid moisture, hot soups, and hot coffee for 10 days; drink through a straw until lips peel.

    • Lips may experience dryness for 3 to 6 months, depending on individual body reactions.

    • Do not stretch the lips; cut food into tiny bites.

    • Avoid biting into greasy, oily, salty, or spicy foods.

    • Refrain from constant lip wiping or licking during meals.

    • Avoid water on the pigmented areas as much as possible for the first 7 days.

    • Protect lips with ointment during activities like showering to prevent water contact.

    • Sleep slightly elevated to prevent swelling.

    • Use a satin pillowcase or wrap the pillowcase to prevent pigment transfer.

    • No smoking for a minimum of 10 days.

    • Avoid kissing, rubbing, or friction on newly tattooed lips for the first 10 days to preserve pigment.

    • Avoid underwater swimming and bathing for at least 4 weeks.

    • Seal lips with ointment before brushing teeth; avoid whitening toothpaste.

    • Apply ice pack for 10-minute intervals during the first 48 hours (protected with a wet barrier).

    • Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for 4 weeks to prevent sunburn and scarring.

    • Wear lipstick, lip gloss, and chapstick after 10 days, ensuring the product is new.
